Climate Forest Project
The Good Energy Initiative's (NGO) Climate Forest project was established to join the fight against climate change by planting trees in the built environment, and to improve the quality of life for residents of cities and towns in Israel, with an emphasis on the social periphery.
The project operates in a unique structure involving a wide circle of stakeholders from the business sector, local government, and the community. Our responsibility for the trees begins at the planting stage and continues long afterward through supporting actions for their absorption and growth, as well as through educational and informational campaigns for the community to preserve and nurture the trees.
Through this, we ensure that the trees planted live and flourish over time, thereby realizing their potential to improve residents' quality of life and benefit their health, and leading to a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions that contribute to global warming.
Since its inception, the project has led to the planting of thousands of trees in dozens of projects across the country, together with a long line of business companies, and with the participation of dozens of local authorities and hundreds of volunteers.
Who are we?
(The Good Energy Initiative)
The Good Energy Initiative (R.A.) is a social enterprise for climate change that has been operating since 2006 and as a registered non-profit organization since 2008. The initiative develops unique and innovative projects for the implementation of environmental technologies and performance while achieving social benefit. The projects combine practical ecology with education and public outreach, and they grow and operate in educational institutions, urban and rural communities from the geographical and social periphery in Israel, in non-profit organizations, in factories, and in businesses.
The Good Energy Initiative has over a decade of experience in tree planting projects, including plantings in educational institutions across the country, tree plantings for carbon balancing purposes, planting events for business companies, establishment, maintenance, and operation of planting systems from the seedling stage to permanent planting.
